Sar Pass Trek is one of the most famous trails in the Shivalik range. Sar is a lake in the local dialect.
Sar Pass is a moderately difficult trek in Himachal Pradesh’s Parvati Valley. Located at an
altitude of 13,700 feet, it is an excellent introduction to high-altitude trekking. This trek is also
popular with Indian trekkers.
Every year, herds of adventurers groups to this snowy dreamland. Sar Pass Trek is one of India’s
most beautiful treks, promising a medley of dense forests, sylvan meadows, and roaring
streams. Your first stop will be in Kasol, the trek’s base village. It’s a lovely hamlet that reflects
Israel’s culture and makes it the dream destination of backpackers.
The starting part of the Sar Pass trek takes place in stunning woods that look like they’re coming
out of a fantasy movie. Midway through the journey, the scenery changes from grassy meadows
to Narnia’s Winterland! A layer of powdery snow obscures patches of green and brown. The last
hour or so of the trek to the main Sar Pass is the most exciting, as the slope incline is nearly 90
degrees!

As terrifying as it may sound, the surrounding Himalayan beauty overcomes your
terror and exhaustion. The descent from Sar Pass, which cannot be traversed by trekking due to
the steep incline, is the highlight of the Sar Pass trek. You must slide down the hill! It’s like being
on a roller coaster, just better. Feel your heart pounding and your soul rejoicing as the little kid
inside you comes shrieking to life!

About the Sar Pass trek

The Sar Pass trek, one of India’s most famous treks, provides beautiful views of the
surrounding Himalayan peaks. The trail begins in the well-known village of Kasol, also known

rhododendrons, green meadows, and rustic hamlets. The trek, which has a mild degree of
difficulty, is suitable for fit beginners.

In terms of technicalities, Sar Pass is basically a mountain ridge rather than a mountain pass. But that doesn’t make it any less exciting than one! Sar Pass, located in Kullu’s serene Parvati Valley, offers unrivaled views of the raging Parvati river. The Sar summit offers a panoramic view of snow-capped peaks and misty mountain valleys. In its lush folds, the Sar Pass trek also contains some of the best campsites, including Min Thach, Biskeri Thatch, and Nagaru. The path is truly mesmerizing, made even more so by a few gurgling streams that emit a haunting lullaby for trekkers. Trekkers will cross the frozen waters of the Parvati River on their way to the quaint little village of Pulga.
