A stunning and enchanting location in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli District. The Valley of Flowers is
known for a large variety of fauna and flora in an Indian National Park. The Valley of Flowers is
located between 3352 and 3658 metres above sea level. The Flowers Valley is a popular tourist
destination that attracts a huge crowd each year! The size of the National Park is 87.50 sq. km
with a width of 2 km and a length of 8 km. The trek to Flower Valley offers serene natural beauty
with snow-capped Himalayan mountains in the background.
The exciting trek to the valley begins in Joshimath, a religious town close to Haridwar. Botanists,
nature lovers, and mountaineers would enjoy Valley of Flowers. There are endemic rare flower
species, lush meadows, and a wide variety of flora to be seen. Valley of Flowers National Park
is home to not only some of the most valuable and rare flowers, but also some rare endangered
animal and bird species. To name a few, there’s the Asiatic black bear, musk deer, and snow
leopard. They are common animals, and Himalayan monal and pheasant are examples of
high-altitude birds that can be seen in the valley. In the Valley of Flowers National Park, enjoy
the spectacular view of the riots of color spread in front of you – glowing in the sun, blossoming,
swinging and blushing! As you step into the valley, the main mixture of fragrance emanating
from the flowers will hit you in the waves and you will be drugged to its fullness!

A holy spot at an altitude of 4,633 m is Hemkund Sahib Gurudwara. A glacial lake and seven
mountain peaks surround Hemkund Sahib. The 10th Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji is
devoted to the holy pilgrimage. The total distance from Ghanagria to Hemkund Sahib is 6 km.
Thousands of devotees flock to the star-shaped Gurudwara near the beautiful lake every year.
The trek’s main attractions are thick oak and pine trees, sparkling waterfalls and streams.
Haridwar Bus Stand
❖ Meet us at the Haridwar Railway station at 7 AM. To avoid any delays, please arrive a
day early in Haridwar. We begin our climb to Govind Ghat.
❖ This might take up to 11 hours to complete the journey. As you drive up the Bhagirath
highway, with the Alaknanda river running alongside, you’ll notice sharp bends in the
road and the valley becoming deeper and deeper.
❖ Late in the evening, you will arrive at the base camp, which is nestled at a height of 1920
m. After a long drive, take some time to rest and acclimate to the altitude.
❖ Grab your delicious dinner before heading to your guesthouse/lodge or hotel for the

trek to Ghangharia, which is located at a height of 2926 metres.
❖ The hike could take up to 7 hours to complete. The first part of the journey to the holy

trek’s terrain is a gradual incline.
❖ Most of the way you will walk along the river to cross it. After that, the river will be hidden
from sight. There are plenty of restaurants and dhabas along the way, so no need to
bring food for the day.
❖ Upon reaching, you can rest and check-in at the hotel/guest-house. You can also head
out into the city for some exploration before calling it a day!
❖ Start your day early in the morning and take in the breathtaking sunrise from your hotel
room. After breakfast, we will begin our trek to the Valley of Flowers, which is located at
a height of 3505 metres.
❖ The trek will take up to 7 hours to complete, and the terrain is a relatively easy, level
walk in the Valley of Flowers.
❖ After a short walk, you will arrive at the Valley of Flowers National Park’s gates. After
getting our tickets, we enter the park and immediately notice subtle changes in the
scenery, eventually leading to a lovely old bridge built over a bubbling stream.
❖ After crossing the bridge, the scenery abruptly changes as the valley opens up on one
side, revealing a breathtaking vista of a seemingly endless expanse of flowers of all
colours and varieties!
❖ You can spot Geraniums, Himalayan Rose, Blue Poppy, the Dog Flower and a lot of
other species of flowers all in different vibrant colours – blue, red, yellow, pink.
❖ After lunch, start the trek back to Ghanghariya for your overnight stay there!
❖ On this day, rise before the sun for an early breakfast! Begin by preparing for a
potentially challenging day ahead! This day, you’ll set out on a trek to Hemkund Sahib,
which sits at an elevation of 4300 metres!
❖ The trek will take up to 10 hours to complete, and the terrain will remain steep the entire
time. Begin your climb up the steep path, and as the vista improves, you’ll come across
a small waterfall.
❖ As you climb higher, you’ll notice that the amount of oxygen in the air is decreasing. To
avoid altitude sickness, take plenty of breaks along the way. However, the breathtaking
views will be more than enough to take your mind off the struggle.
❖ When you arrive at Hemkund Sahib, take in the serenity and tranquillity that pervades
the area, as well as the picturesque sight of the Hemkund Sahib Gurudwara, which sits
alongside the lake. It’s a beautiful sight to see, especially when the rare Brahma Kamal
appears every now and then!
❖ After relaxing for a while and eating lunch alongside the lake, begin the descent toward
Ghanghariya. The descent will be steep and taxing on the knees, but it will be an
exhilarating and energising experience!
❖ You will be staying in Ghanghariya for the night!
❖ Begin your descent back to the base camp as soon as possible. After another beautiful
sunrise and a filling breakfast, we begin our gradual descent.
❖ The goal is to arrive early so that you have enough time to explore surrounding areas
such as Auli at your leisure.
❖ This is where you will be staying overnight!
❖ Start with a fulfilling breakfast and then we leave for the long drive back down to
